Tips
Before you hiring local BD persons/agencies, here are tips from Kaz, the director of JPRO.
"I recommend that you do business development activities on your own, even if it is far away from your country. Partner companies want to talk directly with CEO/CTO, who can talk about your technology and business model in detail. Recently, there are many online events, so you can connect with oversea companies while still in your home country.
You may consider hiring a local BD rep/agency because of language and business practices. But I do not recommend it from the first place.
The main reason is that the cost does not match the output. As anyone who have tried business development on your own are probably aware, the matching rate for technology transfer is generally low, and it is even much lower in case of cross border partnering. Having full time local BD staff doesn't change this situation dramatically. It is just because partner companies evaluate your technology/service, not your BD staff.
I recommend you to use our free matching support. We have a network with all pharmaceutical and medical device companies that are active in partnering with oversea firms. If you need to raise funds, we also have a network with venture capitals and investors who are willing to invest in seeds/firms abroad. If you provide us a non confidential presentation material as PDF, we can distribute it to potential partner companies. We get back to you when companies express interest or when we receive some feedback from partners. This works good enough, for the purpose of matching with potential partners.
If you wish to conduct business development activities as your company, not through a third party, and/or need someone to run projects after partnering, then consider our paid services. They are still very low cost, as we operate our services with limited work forces, efficient tools and workflow.
If you are interested, feel free to contact me. We can talk casually, and we will find a way to suit your needs. I can also introduce free public services (e.g., regulatory affairs, manufacturing, QA, etc.), depending on your situation.
Talk to you then!"
